Aahwahan Foundation Launches Cycle Distribution Initiative for Government School Girls in Pune, Gurgaon & Delhi NCR

At Aahwahan Foundation, we believe that every girl deserves equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. Yet, for thousands of girls studying in government schools, the daily journey to school remains one of the biggest barriers to education. Long walking distances, unsafe roads, lack of affordable transportation, and financial constraints often force young girls to miss classes or discontinue their education altogether.
To address this critical challenge, Aahwahan Foundation is proud to announce Project UDAAN, a transformative initiative aimed at distributing bicycles to deserving girls studying in government schools across Pune, Gurgaon, and the Delhi NCR region.
Why Project UDAAN?
Education is one of the strongest tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, but reaching school safely and consistently remains a challenge for many girls.
Every day, countless students walk several kilometers to attend school. During extreme weather conditions, unsafe routes, or family responsibilities, this daily struggle often results in:
- Frequent absenteeism
- Increased dropout rates
- Reduced academic performance
- Safety concerns during travel
- Limited opportunities for higher education
A bicycle is not just a means of transportation—it is a vehicle of hope, independence, confidence, and opportunity.
Our Mission
Through Project UDAAN, Aahwahan Foundation aims to ensure that no girl misses her education because of transportation challenges.
The project will provide bicycles to girls enrolled in government schools, enabling them to:
- Reach school safely and on time.
- Reduce travel time significantly.
- Improve attendance and academic performance.
- Continue education without interruption.
- Gain confidence, independence, and self-reliance.
Focus Areas
The first phase of Project UDAAN will cover government schools in:
- Pune
- Gurgaon
- Delhi NCR
Priority will be given to girls from economically weaker families who travel long distances to attend school.
